Hi!

My name is Jordan Barnes and I am the owner of Southern Oyster Company. We are based out of my hometown, Mobile, Alabama. You’ll notice our style illustrates my southern coastal roots. Since I was a little girl, I remember buying bead sets from Walmart and creating jewelry for my friends and family. As I got older, I realized that my passion for creating, and designing is still present. I originally set out to start making my own lightweight creations. This was because I have never been able to wear heavy earrings. I started out with wire hoops and beaded jewelry and have since found many other beautiful lightweight mediums to use. I try to create a variety of styles and my hope is that there is something for everyone.

Although jewelry is where I started, I also have a passion for creating home décor and designing. One of my favorite ways to decorate is by restoring something old into something new. Our oyster decor does just that. By adding a little paint and other decorative accents, I'm able to bring out some of the natural beauties in these shells. All of the oyster shells we use for decor and accessories are local and come from the Mobile Bay area. Instead of having these shells end up in a landfill, we recycle them, and turn them into something beautiful and unique. I have so many ideas for jewelry and home décor, and I can’t wait to share them with y'all!
